Decent chowder and raw bar oysters. Delicious mashed potatoes, hush puppies, Grouper (FRESH CATCH) and mud pie (dessert). A decent amount of items from the kitchen seem home made. Yummy and everybody in the area knows/likes this place.
Everything was delicious! The steak was amazing, the calamari was tender and crunchy... Yukon gold potatoes was funky with some earthy tasting spice.... But other than that was awesome
Went to Squids tonight. 5:15 pm not very busy and an empty table on the patio. Lucky us! Not so fast. They refused to seat the 2 of us at a table for 4 people. We waited for 35 minutes. The empty table remained empty. No turnover in the other tables. We asked if they would seat us at the table for 4. The manager refused. We finished our glass of wine and left. Went to Stoney River nearby. Got seated promptly, had a fantastic meal with excellent service. I understand that you don’t want to seat 2 people at a large table but not seating 2 people at a table for 4 early on Friday doesn’t make sense to me.
Don't Order the Lobster!!! I went to Squid's on Saturday night with my husband and son. Our waitress was wonderful, very accommodating, efficient and friendly, and the only reason I'm giving two stars instead of one. My son and I had lobster. I took a bite and it had a foul taste like dirty water. I thought that maybe it was just that claw so I cracked the other and same thing. Then I cracked the tail and I couldn't even cut it in half. It was like rubber. I knew that I couldn't send it back at that point since I already deconstructed it but I did mention it to the very nice waitress who sent over a VERY RUDE manager who asked what the problem was and then said we clean the tanks and walked away. The waitress came back and said that the manager will allow us to get one free dessert. No thanks. I wasted $70 on two lobsters that were probably swimming in a tank of filthy water for months.
